I'M SO GLAD THEY PRAYED

“For this reason also, since the day we heard of it, we have not ceased to pray for you and to ask that you may be filled with the knowledge of His will in all spiritual wisdom and understanding.” Colossians 1:9

What we believe in is revealed through our lifestyle (cf. Mt.6:21). If that’s true, how would you assess your prayer life? If everyone that you love was dependant on your prayers for health and strength, would they be dead and weak? Intercessory praying is diminishing only because society’s pace disallows believers opportunity to stand still long enough to capture the magnitude of their own existence - when no one is praying, the Holy Spirit prays (“In the same way the Spirit also helps our weakness; for we do not know how to pray as we should, but the Spirit Himself intercedes for us with groanings too deep for words; and He who searches the hearts knows what the mind of the Spirit is, because He intercedes for the saints according to the will of God.” Ro.8:26-27).

I remember a time when prayer meetings at church were really devoted to prayer. It’s now become more discourse with perhaps 5 minutes of prayer. Is there not enough to be thankful for? Perhaps we don’t know as many people as some of the gregarious ones; therefore intercessory praying isn’t time consuming.

I would beg you on today to cease being analytical with all that could lend itself to why many are negligent and become more effectual than you’ve ever been before! (cf. 2 Co.5:10)
